Infiniti qx60 rear speakers not working

If you’re an audio enthusiast who owns an Infiniti QX60 and you’ve been having trouble getting sound from your rear speakers, this post is for you.

The first step to take when diagnosing a problem with your vehicle’s audio system is to check all of the connections.

Make sure that all of the wires are securely connected, both to the speaker itself and to the amplifier. If any of them are loose or disconnected, tighten or reconnect them as needed.

Read on to learn about some of the troubleshooting steps you can take to get your rear speakers up and running again.

How to fix Infiniti QX60 rear speakers not working?

1. Check for blown fuse

If your Infiniti QX60’s rear speakers are not working, you should check for a blown fuse. The fuse box is located in the engine compartment, on the driver’s side.

Once you’ve found the fuse box, look for the fuse labeled “AUDIO.” If this fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same amperage.

If the fuse is not blown, then the problem may be with the speaker itself.

2. Check for Dirt and debris inside speaker

Symptoms of a dirty or debris-filled speaker can include crackling or popping sounds, decreased volume, or even no sound at all.

If your Infiniti QX60 rear speakers are not working properly, you should definitely check for dirt and debris inside the speaker.

To do this, first remove the speaker grille by gently prying it off with a flathead screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the grille.

Once the grille is off, use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to carefully remove any dirt or debris from the speaker. If you see any water spots inside the speaker, wipe them away with a clean, dry cloth.

Once you have cleaned the speaker, reattach the grille and test the speaker to see if it is working properly.

3. Check the wiring

There are a few things that could lead to problem in rear speakers of Infiniti QX60, and most of them can be fixed by checking the connections and making sure they’re tight.

One possibility is that the wire connecting the rear speakers to the head unit has come loose.

This can happen if you’ve been moving the car around a lot, or if there’s been a recent jarring event (like a car accident). If this is the case, simply reconnect the wire and see if that fixes the problem.

Another possibility is that the wire itself is damaged. If you see any frayed or broken wires, you’ll need to replace them before your rear speakers will work again. Luckily, this is a relatively simple and inexpensive repair that you can do yourself.

If neither of these solutions works, there may be a more serious problem with your car stereo system.

4. Check the head unit

One of the most common Infiniti QX60 problems is that the rear speakers stop working. Before you replace the speakers, it’s important to check the head unit.

Oftentimes, the problem is simply a loose connection. To check the connections, first remove the paneling around the head unit.

Then, using a multimeter, check for continuity between the positive and negative terminals on the rear speakers. If there is no continuity, then you’ll need to replace the speakers.

However, if there is continuity, then the problem is likely with the head unit itself. In that case, you’ll need to have the head unit repaired or replaced.

5. Clean the connections

If you’re Infiniti QX60 rear speakers are not working, the first thing to check is the connections. Make sure all the wires are securely connected to the speaker terminals. If they are loose, gently tighten them until they make good contact. If that doesn’t fix the problem, the next thing to check is the fuse.

The fuse for the rear speakers is located in the fuse box under the hood. If it is blown, replace it with a new one of the same amperage. Once you’ve checked the connections and replaced the fuse, if necessary, restart your QX60 and see if the rear speakers are now working.

How to Diagnose Blown Infiniti QX60 rear speakers?

If you’ve been experiencing poor sound quality from your Infiniti QX60 rear speakers, there is a chance that they are blown.

Trying to diagnose a blown speaker can be daunting, but with the right tools and knowledge, it doesn’t have to be.

Step 1: Disconnect the Speaker

Before attempting any troubleshooting of your rear speakers, make sure that they are disconnected from power sources such as amplifiers or receivers.

This will ensure that no additional damage is done while you are diagnosing the speaker. Use caution when handling the wires and components as they can be fragile.

Step 2: Check the Speaker for Vibration

Once the speaker is disconnected, put your hand on either side of it and gently press down and release in order to check for vibration coming from the speaker itself.

If there is vibration coming from either side of the speaker then it is likely still functioning properly and does not need further diagnosis or repair.

Step 3: Check the Speaker with a Multimeter

You will need access to a multimeter in order to determine if there is any electrical current flowing through your speaker by measuring its resistance (ohms).

Make sure all power sources are still disconnected from your speaker before proceeding with this step. Connect one end of a multimeter probe to each wire coming out of your rear speakers and set the multimeter to measure resistance (ohms).

If there is no electrical current flowing through your speaker then its resistance will read ‘0’ ohms and it is likely that it has blown.

Step 4: Determine the Amount of Damage to the Speaker

If you have determined that one or both of your Infiniti QX60 rear speakers have blown, you should try to assess how much damage has been done before replacing it/them.

Visually inspect both sides of each speaker for signs of physical damage such as cracking, warping, holes etc…

These are all signs that indicate more extensive damage than just a blown voice coil or diaphragm which may require replacement of more than just one component within each speaker system.
